The living planet: A long story of climate-biosphere coevolution

Earth's climate has been continuously varying in the last
four billion years, and many of these changes have been induced
by the complex interplay of biotic and abiotic processes.
Here we explore some of the interactions between climate and
biosphere, from the Great Oxidation Event to the Eocene-Paleocene
Thermal Maximum, through the Charney mechanism and the role of
vegetation, to the effects of one especially active species
which has named itself "sapiens". Not without ending by a
discussion on how and where we could detect life on other
(exo)planets.
